Gentaur NEXT 13 Prestained Protein Ladder

The Gentaur NEXT 13 Prestained Protein Ladder features a mix of 13 recombinant proteins spanning molecular weights from 5 to 250 kDa, each pre-stained for easy visualization during electrophoresis. The proteins are covalently bound with a blue chromophore, while distinct colored reference bands enhance size estimation accuracy:

  • Red band at 80 kDa
  • Green band at 25 kDa
  • Yellow band at 15 kDa (newly designed)
  • Purple band at 250 kDa

This ladder provides reliable tracking of protein size and separation in SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) and helps approximate target protein molecular weights. It also validates Western blot transfer efficiency on membranes including PVDF, nylon, and nitrocellulose.

 Loading Volume Recommendations

For clear visualization during electrophoresis, load 3 μL per well on a 15-well mini-gel or 5 μL per well on a 10-well mini-gel. For general Western blot protein transfer, use 2.5 μL per well.

Note: The molecular weight of each protein band (kDa) is determined by comparison with an unstained protein ladder under the respective electrophoresis conditions. Additional calibration may be required for precise molecular weight estimation.

 Storage Buffer Composition

Each protein band, at concentrations of 0.2 to 0.4 mg/mL, is stored in a buffer containing:

  • 20 mM Trisphosphate (pH 7.5)
  • 2% SDS
  • 0.2 mM Dithiothreitol (DTT)
  • 3.6 M Urea
  • 15% (v/v) Glycerol

Quality Control

Using 5 μL of the NEXT 13 Prestained Protein Ladder (PMX13) resolves 10 distinct bands in 4–20% SDS-PAGE gels (Tris-glycine buffer), with consistent transfer confirmed by Western blotting onto PVDF membranes.

Storage Conditions

  • Stable for up to 2 weeks at 25°C.
  • Stable for up to 3 months at 4°C.
  • Stable for up to 24 months at -20°C.
